The manager will be responsible for the recruitment, training, and development of all department associates, ensuring that staffing requirements are met both in the short term and long term. This includes utilizing analytics to make informed recommendations regarding staffing needs. The manager will also be tasked with recommending capital investments related to warehouse space, industrial lift equipment, and material handling needs, with budgetary authority of up to $3 million. Additionally, the role involves processing and reporting on company records, including labor, payroll, quality, and inventory, ensuring that all orders are confirmed and any necessary corrections are made prior to daily transmission. A strong understanding of Lean principles is essential, as the manager will facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and engage direct reports in coaching and training to achieve significant cost savings. Safety is a critical aspect of this role, requiring the manager to incorporate safety training and enforce OSHA standards while addressing any unsafe conditions immediately. Responsibilities

  • Oversee overall operations of the Regional Distribution Center.
  • Implement and manage company policies and procedures within the distribution center.
  • Supervise three to eight leadership positions across various operational areas.
  • Manage a budget of up to $5 million and achieve order shipment goals of up to $75 million annually.
  • Work cross-functionally with Customer Service, Sales, Purchasing, and Human Resources.
  • Provide leadership and motivation for successful DC operations and completion of continuous improvement goals.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and associates to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Responsible for recruitment, training, and development of all department associates.
  • Provide short-term coverage planning for staffing requirements and long-term staffing reviews.
  • Develop and coach leaders using various Human Resources technologies and tools.
  • Exercise authority for staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, disciplinary notices, and terminations.
  • Recommend capital investments involving warehouse space and material handling needs with budgetary authority of up to $3 million.
  • Process and report company records including labor, payroll, quality, and inventory.
  • Ensure daily electronic confirmation of all orders shipped and make necessary corrections prior to daily transmission.
  • Demonstrate understanding of Lean principles and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Incorporate strong safety focus into daily activities and enforce OSHA standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent leadership experience.
  • 5 - 7 years of manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution center leadership experience.
