About the position

The DC Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all personnel and operations within the distribution center during a single shift. This role focuses on leading and developing a team to achieve positive results while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The manager will implement best practices, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with HR and leadership to maintain compliance and efficiency in operations.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the functions and personnel of a shift to achieve desired results per the daily operations plan.
  • Develop, implement, and sustain best practices to contribute to business success.
  • Act as the primary information source for the Supervisor team, providing visible leadership and motivation.
  • Lead a team of Supervisors in continuous improvement processes, focusing on root cause analysis and performance indicators.
  • Apply effective communication and motivational techniques in supervising and counseling subordinates.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve positive building results, prioritizing action steps and allocating resources.
  • Assist in the recruitment efforts of all DC personnel.
  • Drive workflow in the DC to ensure objectives are met efficiently.
  • Partner with HR and DC Leadership to develop policies and procedures for Supervisors and team members.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop network best practices focused on process improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of operations management experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a similar field preferred.
  • Experience in leading large scale process improvements through Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Collaborative skills to work with GM, AGM, and OMs to meet budget and P&L goals.
  • Functional knowledge of logistics processes, including flow, cost efficiencies, and safety standards.
  • Analytical skills for problem identification and resolution.
  • Proficiency in a Windows-based computer environment and Microsoft Office Products.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and labor management systems.
