About the position

The Level 2 DC Power Technician at Alamon, Inc. is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of DC power systems in various settings, including Central Offices, MSO, and Data Centers. This role requires significant travel and involves leading projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and effectively communicating with clients and team members. The technician will work with various power systems and equipment, requiring a strong safety mindset and the ability to work independently in diverse environments.

Responsibilities

• Act as a lead technician for DC power systems installation and maintenance.
• Perform power plant battery replacements and work with VRLA and wet cell batteries.
• Conduct DC power grounding and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Read and interpret floor plans, rack drawings, and work orders.
• Plan and coordinate high-risk activities related to DC power systems.
• Install relay racking, cable racking, and auxiliary framing.
• Install and sew copper and fiber cables using various connector types.
• Install DC power rectification, batteries, fuse panels, and BDFB/BDCBB.
• Communicate effectively with customer supervisors, engineers, and technicians.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience working in Central Offices, MSO, and Data Centers.
• Knowledge of DC Power (-48VDC) systems and installation procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Strong time management and multitasking skills.
• Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.

Nice-to-haves

• ROADM installation experience preferred but not mandatory.
