About the position

The Level 2 DC Power Technician at Alamon, Inc. is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of DC power systems in various settings, including Central Offices, MSO, and Data Centers. This role requires significant travel and involves working with power plant battery replacements, DC power grounding, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The technician will act as a lead, coordinating high-risk activities and working closely with customer supervisors and engineers. Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain DC power systems in Central Offices, MSO, and Data Centers.
• Perform power plant battery replacements and VRLA battery replacements.
• Conduct DC power grounding and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Read and interpret floor plans, rack drawings, and customer-provided work orders.
• Plan and coordinate high-risk activities, including identifying equipment and mapping out new fibers for integration.
• Install relay racking, cable racking, fiber ducting, and auxiliary framing.
• Install and sew copper and fiber cables using various connector types.
• Install DC power rectification, batteries, fuse panels, and BDFB/BDCBB.
• Communicate effectively with customer supervisors, engineers, and technicians.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWIs in the past 5 years).
• Experience working in Central Offices, MSO, and Data Centers.
• Knowledge of DC Power (-48VDC) and ability to perform hot cuts.
• Ability to comply with Central Office / MSO / Data Center standards.
• Excellent time-management skills and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive.

Nice-to-haves

• ROADM installation experience preferred but not mandatory.
