About the position

The DCS Field Service Engineer I at Honeywell is responsible for providing on-site installation, maintenance, and support for automation control systems and advanced manufacturing software applications. This role involves troubleshooting, system diagnostics, and ensuring the operational efficiency of Honeywell's DCS platforms, requiring significant travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Honeywell's suite of DCS quality control hardware and software and handle customer questions about the state of the system.
  • Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance of customer's Distributive Control Systems.
  • Troubleshoot and solve system and process related problems.
  • Write Monthly Performance and Results Reports.
  • Sustain proficiency in all products and services that the company offers, including installation standard methodologies, equipment protocol, and safety guidelines.
  • Provide on-site pre-start-up, start-up, contracted service work, warranty, troubleshooting, and training of Honeywell products, ensuring equipment is operational and free of defects.
  • Accurately document the work performed at customer facilities and/or project staging areas, including periodic preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Review product prints and specifications.
  • Play an active role in various projects such as upgrades, new installations, or new functionality for customers when required.
  • Coordinate work with other groups to ensure commitments are met.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in an engineering or technical field, or equivalent military experience in electronics programs.
  • Basic knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's).
  • Ability to travel up to 50%-75% of the time, including overnight stays.
  • Valid driver's license acceptable to Honeywell.

  • Previous experience as a Field Service Technician.
  • Previous technical/installation experience.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills; capable of learning available analysis tools to solve complex system or process problems.
