Dealer Poker (Part-Time)

About the position

The Dealer - Poker position at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa is a part-time role focused on providing exceptional guest service while dealing poker and blackjack games. The dealer is responsible for managing game operations, ensuring compliance with gaming laws, and maintaining the integrity of the games. This role requires strong mathematical skills, public speaking abilities, and a thorough understanding of poker and blackjack rules.

Responsibilities

• Deal games of poker and blackjack to guests while seated at the tables.
• Control wagering and manage the pot during games.
• Collect the casino's vig from each pot and exchange guest currency for poker chips.
• Ensure compliance with internal control procedures, state and tribal gaming laws, and the Bank Secrecy Act.
• Inform guests of poker room promotions and open/close games as needed.
• Explain the rules of blackjack to guests and collect losing wagers from players.
• Pay off winning hands according to the payoff schedule and maintain card deck integrity.
• Adhere to table games policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years experience as a poker dealer and at least six months as a blackjack dealer.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of classified information.
• Knowledgeable in all aspects of poker room operations and types of poker games.
• Ability to handle casino chips and currency accurately and efficiently.
• Strong mathematical skills for calculating payoffs and managing wagers.
