About the position
The Dealer Trainee position at Boyd Gaming Corporation offers an exciting opportunity to start a career in the casino industry. This role involves attending a free Dealer Training School Program, where trainees will learn the necessary skills to become a dealer. The training lasts four to six weeks, and trainees will earn an hourly wage while attending classes. Candidates must be committed to the training schedule and able to meet the requirements for obtaining an Indiana Gaming License.
Responsibilities
- Attend Dealer Training School classes from Tuesday to Friday, 10 AM to 2 PM.
- Learn and practice dealer skills for various casino games.
- Pass a timed, basic math test as part of the training process.
- Obtain and maintain an Indiana Gaming License.
- Perform basic mathematical functions and calculate payouts mentally.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- No prior experience is necessary.
- Ability to pass a timed, basic math test.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to grasp, reach, and bend.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is a plus.
