About the position

As a Dealer Trainee at Queen Baton Rouge, you will embark on a journey to learn the art of dealing assigned table games with accuracy and professionalism, adhering to company policies and gaming regulations. This role is pivotal in maintaining control of the assigned table game, ensuring that guests receive quality service and an enjoyable gaming experience. You will be responsible for building guest relations throughout your shifts, making guests feel welcome and comfortable, and encouraging them to return. Your training will include novice proficiency in dealing Blackjack, monitoring table finances, controlling gaming cards and equipment, and ensuring compliance with game rules and casino policies. You will also be tasked with answering questions about game rules, completing government reporting, and maintaining a clean and orderly work area. Handling routine guest complaints with discretion and professionalism is essential, as is the ability to work a flexible schedule that may include late nights, weekends, and holidays. This position requires a commitment to ethical conduct and adherence to regulatory and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to deal assigned table games accurately and professionally according to company policies and gaming regulations.
  • Maintain control of the assigned table game at all times and ensure quality guest service.
  • Build guest relations throughout every shift by engaging with guests and making them feel welcome.
  • Monitor the finances of the table and pay winnings or collect losing bets as per game rules.
  • Control gaming cards and equipment, ensuring proper usage of tables, shoes, and paddles.
  • Answer questions about game rules and casino policies for guests.
  • Complete all necessary government reporting accurately and timely.
  • Keep the work area clean and orderly, adhering to company standards.
  • Handle routine guest complaints and incidents, seeking to resolve them while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Work a flexible schedule as required by business operations, including late nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, guest service, written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Professional demeanor and presence with the ability to interact effectively with guests and team members.
  • Gaming industry experience is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a customer service role is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of additional table games beyond Blackjack is a plus.
