The Accounting Manager plays a crucial role in the management of the on-site accounting team that supports dealership customers and department managers. This position is responsible for overseeing the financial condition of the dealership, directing overall financial planning, budgeting, and accounting practices. The Accounting Manager is expected to uphold the highest ethical standards, as is the case for all positions within the dealership. This role requires daily interaction with dealership managers to resolve issues that arise between the shared processing center and dealership managers, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with company policies. In addition to managing the accounting team, the Accounting Manager will routinely review operating reports in accordance with Asbury requirements and assist dealership personnel with general human resource questions. The role also involves supervising the compliance administrator, assisting with deal flow, and resolving any problematic deals and CIT issues. The Accounting Manager is responsible for hiring, training, and counseling the compliance administrator, as well as working closely with the title service provider to resolve documentation issues. Attendance at manager meetings regarding dealership operations, deal flow, and CIT is also a key responsibility, ensuring that dealership managers comply with Asbury policies and procedures and reporting any deviations to the Market Controller. This position is integral to maintaining the financial integrity of the dealership and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and communication with all levels of management, staff, and vendors. The Accounting Manager must be process-oriented, analytical, and detail-oriented, with strong people management and leadership skills.
