About the position

The Dean of Academic Counseling, Career & Educational Support Services (ACCESS) at Cabrillo College is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and integrating the operations of the ACCESS Division. This role involves collaborating with other deans, participating in governance activities, and providing leadership on district-wide programs to achieve institutional goals. The position aims to support a diverse student population and enhance the Latinx student experience, aligning with the college's mission as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI).

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and integrate operations of the ACCESS Division.
• Administer the District-wide Guided Pathways development and integration.
• Collaborate with other deans and participate in governance activities.
• Provide expert assistance and leadership to the President and Cabinet on district-wide programs.
• Support the achievement of institutional goals within areas of instructional and campus responsibility.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree preferred or equivalent experience in higher education administration.
• Experience in academic counseling and educational support services.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI).
• Knowledge of Guided Pathways initiatives.
• Familiarity with participatory governance in higher education.
