About the position
Azusa Pacific University is seeking an outstanding academic leader for the position of Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, Sciences, and Theology. This role involves leadership, planning, direction, and management of the college's programs, fostering a dynamic learning community, and integrating faith and learning. The Dean will be responsible for creating a unified identity for the College, enhancing interdisciplinary opportunities, and ensuring the success of diverse faculty and staff. The anticipated hire date is either January 1, 2025, or July 1, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and management for the College of Arts, Humanities, Sciences, and Theology.
- Advance scholarship, research, and integration of faith and learning.
- Create a unified identity for the College and foster community across departments.
- Recruit, develop, and retain a diverse faculty and staff.
- Build financially viable programs and represent the College with stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum of eight years of leadership experience in a complex academic environment.
- Record of teaching, scholarship, and service with a terminal degree (PhD preferred).
- Commitment to APU's Statement of Faith and integration of faith and learning.
- Excellent relational and communicative skills.
- Experience with strategic planning and implementation.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with grant and research funding.
- Knowledge of regional and programmatic accreditation and licensure.
- Adept at using technology to complement instruction and learning.
