About the position

The Dean of Students at Pleasant View School is responsible for overseeing student discipline, promoting a positive school culture, and ensuring the smooth operation of school routines. This role involves coordinating discipline programs, supervising daily school activities, and monitoring student behavior to foster a supportive educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and revise the offenses and consequences matrix, the uniform code, and other school policies in consultation with school administrators.
• Establish Positive Behavioral Support Programs and ensure staff members understand and implement positive behavioral correction approaches.
• Ensure consistent and fair implementation of school discipline policies.
• Coordinate detentions, in-school suspensions, and other discipline measures as needed.
• Supervise morning drop-off, lunch, prayer, transitions, and after-school pick-up to ensure smooth functioning.
• Help devise and implement standardized routines and structures for effective school operations.
• Monitor students throughout the day to ensure adequate supervision.
• Promote a positive attitude toward school among staff and students.
• Encourage the use of an Honor Code to uphold high character standards.
• Maintain close contact with teachers to meet their needs for furniture, technology, and other resources.
• Conduct periodic reviews of facility needs to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Regularly monitor attendance and follow up with students exhibiting high levels of tardiness or absences.
• Monitor behavioral infractions and implement plans for students with high levels of infractions.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports on all areas of responsibility.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience in a mid-level educational role.
• Strong understanding of student discipline and behavioral management.
