About the position

The University of Florida is seeking a transformative and strategic leader to serve as the Dean of the College of the Arts (COTA). This role involves overseeing the academic and administrative functions of the college, which includes various schools and centers dedicated to the arts. The Dean will play a crucial role in enhancing interdisciplinary collaboration, managing resources, and leading fundraising efforts while ensuring the college's integration into the broader university mission.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the chief academic and administrative officer of the College of the Arts.
• Demonstrate interdisciplinary progress at the confluence of the arts.
• Navigate the complexities of a leading American research university.
• Set a bold and innovative vision for the College within the University's strategic plan.
• Direct the growth and development of the College through shared governance.
• Participate in campus-wide planning and ensure teaching quality and accreditation.
• Manage the College's budget and allocation of resources.
• Oversee the administration of academic and research programs.
• Enhance alumni relations and outreach at local, state, national, and international levels.
• Lead fundraising efforts and prepare for the next capital campaign.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in teaching, research, and service appropriate to appointment as a tenured full professor.
• A terminal degree related to one of the College's disciplines.
