Debt Settlement Negotiator- Law Firm

About the position

The Debt Settlement Negotiator at McCarthy Law PLC is responsible for negotiating significant reductions in clients' debts with creditors and collection agencies. This role requires strong communication and negotiation skills to establish and maintain relationships with creditors while meeting assigned goals and quotas. The position emphasizes a client-centered approach, ensuring that the firm provides competent, confident, and confidential service to its clients.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate a reduction in balances owed with creditors and collection agencies on behalf of clients.
• Meet assigned goals and quotas to be achieved or surpassed monthly.
• Follow up via email and phone calls with creditors and clients.
• Establish and maintain relationships with creditors.
• Negotiate payment schedules and reductions with creditors and attorneys.
• Manage emails for clients and review settlement letters and funding.
• Handle inbound and outbound calls to provide updates or forward for further assistance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a negotiations role.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to problem solve and think quickly on your feet.
• Able to prioritize and meet deadlines with little to no supervision.
• Proficient in Google Drive and Google add-ons.
