About the position

The Decision Scientist III role is a senior-level position focused on driving analytics projects independently within the assigned business group. The incumbent will leverage interdisciplinary concepts from business, applied statistics, operations research, and behavioral sciences to produce analytic insights that support data-driven decision-making and optimize business results in alignment with company goals.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a force multiplier, focusing on high impact analyses across multiple business models.
  • Drive decision science projects leveraging quantitative analysis techniques, including machine learning, for business optimization.
  • Foster communication and partnership across multiple organizational levels, engaging with mid-level managers.
  • Pursue business outcomes through increased revenue and efficiency using data-driven insights.
  • Champion the use of tools to solve business challenges and deliver timely, accurate, and repeatable solutions.
  • Exercise sound judgment and risk management while fostering a client-centric culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training or experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Banking, Finance, Decision/Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering.
  • 2+ years of decision science/analytics project management experience with demonstrated results.
  • Ability to perform in a cross-functional and collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and support internal business partners and connect insights with execution.
  • Innovative and strategic thinker with a focus on quantifiable business impact.
  • Experience managing multiple projects with tight deadlines in a collaborative environment.
  • High competency in statistical and analytical principles, tools, and techniques.
  • Understanding of various database environments (IBM DB2, Oracle) and technical programming skills (SAS, SQL, Toad).
  • Familiarity with applied data science tools (R, Python, SAS E-Miner) and data visualization tools (Tableau, MicroStrategy).

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's or PhD in a quantitative field such as Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in Banking, Finance, Decision/Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering.
