About the position

The Decision Support Analyst at Texas Children's Hospital plays a crucial role in assisting leadership with strategic and financial decision-making through data analysis and modeling. This position involves working with large datasets to provide insights that drive high-quality service delivery and operational efficiency. The analyst will engage with various levels of authority, including executive and board members, to communicate findings and support decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly analysis using big data, statistics, and research to manage medical expenses within the capitated dollars received from the state.
  • Develop analytical methodologies to evaluate workforce planning, utilization, performance by service type, and benchmarking across the organization.
  • Contribute to departmental goals and process improvement plans as outlined in the annual business plan.
  • Interpret and transform large datasets, ensuring they meet business requirements through cleaning, aggregating, and mapping.
  • Create engaging and actionable data visualizations to support data-driven decision-making aligned with leadership priorities.
  • Lead and perform projects related to financial, workflow, and strategic analysis and planning.
  • Support preparation efforts and data requests for presentations at various authority levels.
  • Communicate insights and results of analyses effectively to stakeholders.
  • Provide consultation, support, and training on campaign management tools and processes.
  • Assist management in developing position control processes that align with workforce planning strategies.
  • Oversee technical accuracy and data integrity, reviewing reconciliation of other staff members' work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or healthcare.
  • 2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related business field.
  • Master's degree preferred, which can substitute for 2 years of work experience.
  • 4 years of experience in data analysis preferred.
