About the position

The Decision Support Data Engineer at Envision Radiology is responsible for creating and providing business value from corporate data sets. This role involves developing comprehensive data solutions that deliver insights to leaders, enabling informed decision-making and enhancing patient service quality. The position requires expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and SQL, along with effective communication skills to train analysts and document engineering processes.

Responsibilities

  • Build/support multi-dimensional and tabular data models using SSAS, Power BI, and other Microsoft technologies.
  • Utilize SQL to create and curate large data sets, create procedures, and custom views as appropriate to support analyst team.
  • Build ETL processes to import, normalize, and clean data across systems and resources.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and capability of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Audit and review existing database orientations and propose/implement improvements.
  • Document technical and system specification for all engineering processes.
  • Ensure accuracy of data through testing and business QA processes.
  • Train Analyst on structure and use of datasets and advise on data solutions to company inquiries.
  • Maintain assistive documents including schema definitions/data dictionaries.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience interacting with and managing relational database systems.
  • Knowledge/experience of BI languages such as SQL, greSQL, DAX, MDX, Python.
  • 3+ years' experience working in datasets supporting healthcare organizations.
  • Knowledge and experience using SSIS and SSAS tools.
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver and a team player.
  • Strong communication skills & professional demeanor.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; or equivalent education, training and experience in Data Analysis.
