About the position

Southwest Construction Services is a Texas-based construction company founded in 1993, specializing in Sawing, Waterproofing, Concrete, Architectural Flooring, and Demolition. We are currently seeking a Sales/Project Manager to join our Decorative Concrete team in Concrete Preservation. In this role, you will be responsible for managing sales and project execution from initial client contact through project completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of decorative concrete products and installation processes, with the ability to build relationships, manage project timelines, and ensure customer satisfaction. The candidate should also demonstrate a strong work ethic, organizational skills, and a desire to be a team player. As a Sales/Project Manager, you will identify new business opportunities and grow the client base within the decorative concrete market. You will present product offerings and decorative concrete solutions to clients, addressing their needs and project goals. Developing prospect lists and geographically organizing prospects will be key responsibilities. Building relationships with customers through various means, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and happy hours, is essential, with expenses reimbursed twice a month after manager approval. You will be expected to achieve assigned sales quotas on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Your role will also involve managing ongoing projects, including budget setups, overseeing work, handling ASIs, RFIs, change orders, and conducting weekly job-site meetings. Attendance at weekly meetings, company functions, and any training provided by the company is required. Additionally, you will assist with production, estimating, and accounting departments as necessary for sold projects, including management, contracts, change orders, and collections. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure the successful execution of projects and the satisfaction of our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities and grow the client base within the decorative concrete market
  • Present product offerings and decorative concrete solutions to clients, addressing their needs and project goals
  • Develop prospect lists and geographically organize prospects
  • Build relationships with customers through various means (i.e., breakfast, lunch, dinner, happy hours, etc.)
  • Achieve assigned sales quota on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Facilitate appointments, call prospects and customers, close sales, prepare proposals, and follow up
  • Manage ongoing projects, budget setups, oversee work, ASIs, RFIs, change orders, and conduct weekly job-site meetings
  • Attend weekly meetings: 6 face-to-face, 20 proposal follow-ups, 3-5 requests for proposals (RFPs)
  • Attend company functions when required (out of town, evening, early morning, weekend, overnight stays, etc.)
  • Attend any training provided or furnished by the company
  • Assist with production, estimating, and accounting departments as necessary for sold projects
  • Assist other departments as necessary on sold projects

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales and project management, preferably within the decorative concrete or construction industry
  • Polish/Resinous knowledge/experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and CRM software
  • Able to navigate takeoff software
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
