Dedicated Team Driver - Home Weekly

About the position

The Dedicated Team Driver position at XPO involves operating tractor-trailer combinations over long distances while ensuring compliance with transportation regulations. This role is designed for existing teams of drivers who will work together on extended runs, typically with a schedule of five days on and two days off, allowing for weekly home time. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and effective communication with dispatchers and fellow team members.

Responsibilities

• Run loads between XPO facilities for pickup and drop off and work with fellow XPO employees.
• Navigate various routes, maintain CMV safety, and ensure compliance with transportation regulations.
• Operate various tractor-trailer combinations over long distances in a typical 5-day work week away from home.
• Operate the vehicle safely within DOT regulations.
• Operate all internal freight transportation work tools and required systems.

Requirements

• Be a member of an existing team; both team members must apply to this position.
• Able to partner with another driver in a sleeper tractor on extended runs.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have a valid Class A commercial driver's license.
• Have a working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
• Safe driving record and history.
• Hold a valid DOT Medical Certification Card or pass a company-paid DOT physical.
• Available to work away from home in a five-day work week.
• Possess hazardous materials, tank vehicle and doubles/triples endorsements.

Nice-to-haves

• Team driving or over-the-road experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination with dispatchers and team members.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating strong teamwork and cooperation.
