About the position

The Team Driver position at XPO involves working as part of an existing driving team to transport freight over long distances. The role requires compliance with safety regulations and effective communication with dispatchers and team members. Team Drivers will operate a sleeper tractor, ensuring safe and timely delivery of loads while being away from home for a typical five-day work week.

Responsibilities

• Run loads between XPO facilities for pickup and drop off and work with fellow XPO employees.
• Navigate various routes, maintain CMV safety, and ensure compliance with transportation regulations.
• Operate various tractor-trailer combinations over long distances in a typical 5-day work week away from home.
• Operate the vehicle safely within DOT regulations.
• Operate all internal freight transportation work tools and required systems.

Requirements

• Be a member of an existing team, as only existing teams are being recruited.
• Able to partner with another driver in a sleeper tractor on extended runs.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have a valid Class A commercial driver's license.
• Have a working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
• Safe driving record and history.
• Hold a valid DOT Medical Certification Card or pass a company-paid DOT physical.
• Available to work away from home in a five-day work week.
• Possess hazardous materials, tank vehicle and doubles/triples endorsements.

• Team driving or over-the-road experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination with dispatchers and team members.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating strong teamwork and cooperation.

• Weekly pay
• Mileage pay at $0.91 per mile, split between each driver ($0.455 per mile) for all tasks related to the completion of the load
• Hourly pay of $33.07 for en route waiting times of more than an hour due to traffic, construction or weather-related delays
