About the position

As a Defense & Government Travel Consultant II at CWT, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service to defense and government travelers. Your primary responsibility will be to create and manage travel arrangements for clients, ensuring that all bookings meet their specific standards and preferences. This includes arranging domestic and international travel, which encompasses air, hotel, rail, and ground transportation. You will act as a trusted advisor, offering informed recommendations to enhance the travel experience for clients. Your role will also involve handling a variety of bookings, from simple to complex itineraries, which may include non-standard and multi-destination travel, ticket exchanges, and intricate fare structures. In addition to making travel arrangements, you will be responsible for addressing any issues that arise before or during travel assignments. This could involve making changes to bookings or resolving unexpected challenges, ensuring that travelers have a seamless experience. You will benefit from comprehensive training provided by experienced colleagues and will have access to a social intranet to stay updated on industry trends and best practices. Responsibilities

  • Create domestic and international travel arrangements for clients, including air, hotel, rail, and ground transportation.
  • Ensure reservations are built according to client standards and preferences.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by offering informed and insightful recommendations that provide the best traveler experience.
  • Handle a wide range of bookings from simple to complex, including non-standard and multi-destination travel, ticket exchanges, and complex fares.
  • Make changes or solve any issues that might occur during or before travel assignments, including both routine and non-routine work.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of experience working as a Travel Consultant or 5 years in another customer service industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of GDS (Sabre or Amadeus).
  • A genuine passion for high-quality customer service.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • A positive, 'can do' attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and grow.
  • Military experience/certifications may substitute for some requirements.
