The Manufacturing Launch Manager at GE Aerospace is a pivotal role that focuses on the collaboration between manufacturing development labs and production teams to ensure successful transitions in manufacturing processes. This position is responsible for executing manufacturing source transition plans that align with post-certification product cost and delivery targets. The role encompasses organizing and leading projects related to new product introductions, new equipment, layout optimization, and the integration of advanced manufacturing engineering practices. In this capacity, the Manufacturing Launch Manager will work closely with New Product Introduction (NPI) teams and Manufacturing Engineers to provide detailed cost and schedule information for manufacturing process development. This includes overseeing hardware and asset builds, as well as implementing risk abatement actions to ensure manufacturing readiness. The manager will lead cross-functional teams through the NPI Tollgate and Manufacturing Review processes, ensuring that all supply chain inputs are identified and strategically planned for new product proposals. As the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) Owner, the manager will facilitate assessments and drive maturation plans as necessary. This role requires a strategic mindset to influence the development of policies and resource control within the area of responsibility. The Manufacturing Launch Manager will also interpret business challenges and recommend best practices to enhance products and processes, demonstrating the ability to offer innovative solutions to complex problems. The position may involve leading functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, emphasizing the importance of effective leadership and communication skills.
