About the position

The DEI Consultant will lead the Marketplace Pillar of First Horizon's enterprise-wide strategic plan, focusing on enhancing the connection between the company's Associate Resource Groups (ARGs) and the clients they serve. This role involves developing strategies to expand the focus of ARGs to include both associate and client experiences, while also educating and equipping client-facing associates for leadership roles within these groups. The consultant will utilize market research and digital engagement to increase accessibility and connectivity among Business Resource Groups (BRGs) and internal partners, ultimately aiming to improve DEI-related practices within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Keep community members updated on DEI-related efforts through email, web, and social media
  • Monitor and enhance the company's reputation in the community
  • Amplify First Horizon brand through various media channels
  • Keep internal associates and leaders informed of community efforts
  • Share DEI best practices from partners
  • Present results of benchmarking surveys to identify improvement opportunities
  • Increase awareness of DEI as a critical business imperative
  • Build relationships across the enterprise to maximize effectiveness and cooperation
  • Participate on task forces and special project teams
  • Collaborate with partners to provide innovative solutions to business unit needs
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of leading BRG or ERG programs that support client acquisition and engagement
  • Prior leadership in sales or marketing roles that successfully expanded outreach to diverse populations
  • Proficiency in digital technology such as email marketing, social media, wireframing, web design, etc.
  • Demonstrated commitment to DEI and high degree of cultural awareness, sensitivity, and flexibility
  • Coursework, training or certificates in DEI-related subject matter
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to handle complex issues and navigate conflict resolution at all levels of the organization
  • Strong project management skills to handle complex projects simultaneously from start to finish
  • Advanced knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures related to DEI

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in social selling and social listening
  • Familiarity with digital engagement strategies
  • Experience in community and economic development agencies
