About the position

The DEI Consultant will lead the Marketplace Pillar of First Horizon Bank's enterprise-wide strategic plan, focusing on enhancing the connection between the bank's Associate Resource Groups (ARGs) and the clients they serve. This role involves developing strategies to improve accessibility and engagement among diverse populations, utilizing market research, and collaborating with various internal partners. The consultant will also educate and equip client-facing associates to take on leadership roles within ARGs, while expanding outreach efforts to key community stakeholders through both face-to-face and digital engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Keep community members updated on DEI-related efforts through email, web, and social media.
  • Monitor and enhance the bank's reputation in the community.
  • Amplify First Horizon brand through various media channels.
  • Keep internal associates and leaders informed about community efforts.
  • Share DEI best practices from partners and present benchmarking survey results.
  • Increase awareness of DEI as a critical business imperative.
  • Build relationships across the enterprise to maximize effectiveness and cooperation.
  • Participate on task forces and special project teams.
  • Collaborate with partners to provide innovative solutions to business unit needs.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of leading Business Resource Group (BRG) or Employee Resource Group (ERG) programs that support client acquisition and engagement.
  • Prior leadership in sales or marketing roles that successfully expanded outreach to diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in digital technology such as email marketing, social media, wireframing, and web design.
  • Demonstrated commitment to DEI with high cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Coursework, training, or certificates in DEI-related subjects.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to handle complex issues and navigate conflict resolution at all organizational levels.
  • Strong project management skills to manage complex projects from start to finish.
  • Advanced knowledge of state and federal laws related to DEI.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in social selling and social listening.
  • Familiarity with community and economic development agencies.
  • Experience in collaborating with military support organizations.
