About the position

As a DEI Manager on Uber's IDEA Team, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing strategic initiatives aimed at fostering an inclusive and engaging workplace. This position focuses on creating programs and metrics that support the hiring, retention, and promotion of underrepresented groups, while also coaching business leaders on their roles in diversity and inclusion. Your work will directly contribute to Uber's mission of reimagining the way the world moves for the better by ensuring that all talent from diverse backgrounds can thrive and succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Devise and execute the strategy against the OKRs defined by the global IDEA strategy.
  • Create global roadmaps and plans for executing key strategic priorities related to diversity and inclusion.
  • Build working relationships with key stakeholders across People & Places to drive delivery.
  • Design and manage programs to train and develop diverse talent.
  • Leverage global DEI programs and apply them to regional and local contexts for implementation at scale.
  • Report and track regional DEI metrics, highlighting progress and opportunities to leadership.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal partners and the IDEA scaled programs team.
  • Create and manage program budgets.
  • Develop and support an internal network of DEI advocates.
  • Engage externally to benchmark best practices and utilize the latest research in the DEI domain.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in DEI program management.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and passion for DEI and people experience.
  • Good understanding of people processes and best practices; designing and structuring programs and developing metrics and KPIs.
  • Experience driving global-scale projects with multiple partners.
  • Strong cultural awareness and proven ability to work with remote stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities with a focus on diversity programs.

Nice-to-haves

  • 6+ years of DEI experience in Recruiting, HR, or related fields.
  • A growth vs fixed mentality, demonstrated by taking calculated risks.
  • Knowledge and experience in global technology businesses.
