About the position

At the Richmond Fed, the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI) is dedicated to fostering an environment where all individuals feel respected, valued, engaged, and appreciated. We are currently seeking a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Program Coordinator to advance our mission. This position is pivotal in leading our Employee Resource Networks (ERNs) program and will play a significant role in various DEI initiatives and reporting. The DEI Program Coordinator will be responsible for supporting DEI strategies that enhance the diversity, equity, and inclusivity of our culture and workforce. In this role, the DEI Program Coordinator will lead the ERN program by providing strategic direction for annual goals that align with the Bank's strategic plan. This includes offering support for events and activities, ensuring effective communication, and maintaining compliance with discretionary policies. The Coordinator will also provide coaching and guidance to ERN leaders, focusing on leadership development and succession planning within the ERNs. Building strong relationships across the Bank is essential for this role. The DEI Program Coordinator will work to develop a comprehensive understanding of various business lines, thereby increasing awareness of DEI as a critical business imperative. Additionally, the Coordinator will collaborate with the Diversity and Inclusion Alliance (DNA) and ODEI colleagues at other Federal Reserve Banks and the Board of Governors to ensure that strategies, processes, and reporting are consistent and efficient. A key responsibility will also include leading the production and management of the OMWI Annual Report to Congress, ensuring that our DEI efforts are effectively communicated and documented.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Employee Resource Network (ERN) program, providing strategic direction for annual goals connected to the Bank's strategic plan.
  • Support events and activities related to the ERN program and ensure effective communication and compliance.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to ERN leaders on leadership development and succession planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives or programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships across diverse teams.
  • Ability to provide coaching and guidance to leaders and teams.
  • Experience in project management and strategic planning.
