About the position
The Deli Associate at SpartanNash is responsible for independently preparing, frying, packaging, displaying, and stocking deli products while ensuring compliance with safety and food safety guidelines. This role contributes to the financial success of the store and enhances the guest experience by adhering to company standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and produce deli products according to the production planner.
- Package and label deli products as per program plan.
- Merchandise deli products according to flight plan and merchandising expectations.
- Stock backroom with deli products, rotating and dating cases and buckets.
- Collaborate with other departments and stores to achieve growth in SpartanNash retail stores.
- Notify the Deli Manager when products and supplies need to be ordered.
- Communicate tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps completed to other associates.
- Follow all PPE and safety guidelines.
- Adhere to all food safety and cleaning expectations.
- Follow guest experience guidelines.
- May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma (GED) preferred.
- One year of retail or related experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Detail-oriented.
