About the position

Sullivan's Foods is seeking a friendly and dependable part-time Deli Clerk to join our Deli team in Marengo, Illinois. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with guests and creating a fun and friendly atmosphere. As a Deli Clerk, you will be responsible for providing remarkable customer service by actively engaging guests through product samples and suggestive selling. The role involves slicing, weighing, packaging, and labeling meat and cheese products, preparing salads, and serving food to guests through the hot case, as applicable. You will also ensure that the deli case and product areas are stocked and visually appealing, prepare meat and cheese trays, veggie trays, and other department products for merchandising and sale, and follow food safety guidelines and health regulations. Additionally, you may be tasked with dishwashing, mixing ingredients, assembling catering orders, and baking or frying products. Responsibilities

  • Slice, weigh, package, and label meat and cheese products for guests.
  • Prepare and dish up salads.
  • Serve food to guests through the hot case as applicable.
  • Ensure the deli case and product areas are stocked and visually appealing.
  • Prepare meat and cheese trays, veggie trays, and other department products for merchandising and sale.
  • Follow food safety guidelines and all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Dish washing, mixing ingredients, assembling catering orders, and baking/frying products as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
