About The Position
The Deli Clerk position at Redner's Warehouse Market is a customer-facing role within the Deli department, reporting directly to the Deli Manager. The primary responsibility of the Deli Clerk is to provide excellent service to customers by preparing and serving deli products in a courteous and efficient manner. This role requires a strong focus on customer satisfaction, ensuring that all orders are prepared to meet the expectations of the customers. The Deli Clerk will be involved in various tasks including slicing, cutting, weighing, and pricing merchandise, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the deli area. In addition to serving customers, the Deli Clerk is responsible for unloading deli merchandise and transporting stock to storage areas. It is essential to maintain the freshness of products by coding and rotating stock, and removing any out-of-code merchandise on a daily basis. The Deli Clerk will also be tasked with pricing all products legibly according to the price book and promoting new items and weekly specials to customers. Communication is key in this role, as the Deli Clerk must report any temperature failures of cases and storage areas to the manager in charge, and adhere to all policies and procedures established for the department. The Deli Clerk will also assist in maintaining a regular cleaning and sanitation program in compliance with store, local, and state health regulations, and may assist in the preparation of hot foods and other deli items as needed. This position requires a proactive approach to customer service and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
