About the position

The Deli Manager at Cosentino's Price Chopper is responsible for leading the deli team to enhance customer shopping experiences while promoting company growth. This role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring product quality, managing labor costs, and fostering a positive team environment. The Deli Manager will also be involved in hiring, training, and performance evaluations of team members, ensuring compliance with health regulations, and maintaining inventory levels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of the deli team to promote growth and deliver expected products and services.
  • Set and implement strategies for operational excellence within the deli department.
  • Communicate departmental goals to team members and implement plans to achieve them.
  • Supervise deli team activities in an effective and respectful manner.
  • Promote a positive team atmosphere with high morale and cooperation.
  • Conduct interviews and hire quality candidates for the deli team.
  • Provide coaching, corrective actions, and performance evaluations to improve team performance.
  • Address employee relations issues and collaborate with management to resolve them.
  • Manage labor costs while balancing customer service needs and company expenditures.
  • Practice effective inventory management and ensure product quality control.
  • Procure items from suppliers to maintain inventory levels.
  • Ensure compliance with health regulations and sanitation guidelines.
  • Operate and maintain deli equipment safely and competently.
  • Resolve customer complaints professionally and uphold customer service standards.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license for deliveries.
  • Food handling permit obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
  • Minimum of 1 year previous experience in deli, bakery, restaurant, or food service operations.
  • Minimum of 6 months previous management experience.
  • Completion of ongoing training as per Cosentino's Learning Plan.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
