About the position
The Deli Sales position at Yoke's Fresh Markets is designed to provide a pleasant and efficient deli experience for guests by actively engaging with them and ensuring they receive exceptional hospitality and professional service. The role emphasizes creating a welcoming atmosphere, promoting sales, and representing the company positively in the community. Associates are expected to uphold the company's core values and contribute to the overall success of the deli department.
Responsibilities
- Report for assigned shifts on time and communicate clearly.
- Promote sales through active discussions with guests and product recommendations.
- Provide exceptional service by greeting guests and informing them of special features and services.
- Prepare food for daily business as assigned and make assorted coffee drinks.
- Mentor new associates and assure a positive learning environment.
- Ensure all work performed complies with safety and sanitation standards.
- Participate in the Deli Department's accident reduction plan.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training.
- Valid State Food Handlers Permit.
- Valid Driver's License or State I.D. Card.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and communicate effectively.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a deli or food service environment.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.
