About the position
The Delivery Driver - 26ft Box Truck is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of materials to external customers. This role emphasizes customer service and adherence to safety regulations while operating a vehicle within specified weight limits. The position requires effective communication and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate deliveries and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Verifying all loads to ensure accurate customer deliveries
- Properly load and unload material from the truck
- Place material in an area designated by the customer following safety rules
- Complete pre and post-trip inspections according to CSA2010 regulations
- Operate a vehicle with a combined vehicle weight of 10,001 - 26,000 lbs
- Wrap and tie down material to ensure safe delivery; keep the product dry during inclement weather
- Drive in various conditions, including urban and construction settings
- Follow all safety precautions to, during, and from deliveries; following all OSHA rules on job sites
- Maintain all DOT qualifications, including keeping DOT card up to date
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- A DOT Medical Card required
- 1-3 years of industry experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills and customer service skills
- Keyboard experience preferred
- Problem-solving skills preferred
- Must be able to sit/stand for 8-10 hours
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs
