About the position
The Delivery Driver at Imperative Chemical Partners is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of chemicals to various locations, including satellite yards and customer leases. This role requires operating specialized vehicles and ensuring compliance with safety regulations while maintaining the integrity of the delivery process.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles including trucks and trailers.
- Strap down totes on trailers to meet delivery requirements.
- Unload totes using a forklift or pump as needed.
- Ensure empty containers are loaded and secured for return to the yard.
- Perform daily and periodic mechanical and safety inspections of vehicles.
- Comply with DOT regulations for hazardous materials transportation.
- Maintain drivers hours of service using the GeoTab drive app.
- Obtain shipping papers for each load before departure.
- Follow company policies and procedures diligently.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to meet delivery requirements.
- Wear appropriate PPE and safety gear as per company policy.
- Recognize and avoid safety hazards in the work environment.
- Occasionally perform delivery duties requiring overnight stays.
Requirements
- Minimum high school graduate or GED.
- Current Class A CDL with Hazmat & Tanker endorsements.
- One year of commercial driving experience.
- Compliance with Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations and DOT regulations for the past 3 years.
- Acceptable motor vehicle record for the past 3 years.
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 75 pounds.
