The primary functions of the Delivery Helper are to load, locate job sites, back up, prepare and restore the job site, and prepare the truck for the following day while maintaining the truck and equipment. The Delivery Helper must comply with company, state, and federal guidelines, particularly as they relate to OSHA and DOT for the safety of all personnel. This role involves performing pre-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork, and loaded products to ensure the accuracy of orders. The Delivery Helper is responsible for safely unloading products and delivering them to the assigned area as directed by the customer, securing mud, equipment, metal, and pallets on the truck, and navigating routes to the job site.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload materials from commercial motor vehicles onto job sites.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork, and loaded products to ensure accuracy of orders.
  • Safely unload products and deliver them to assigned areas as directed by customers.
  • Secure mud, equipment, metal, and pallets on the truck.
  • Navigate routes to job sites while adhering to safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate information accurately.
  • Stamina to lift at least 75 lbs. to carry materials such as drywall and joint compound.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to self-manage, show initiative, be proactive, and drive results.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the construction or building materials industry.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and DOT regulations.
