About the position
The Delivery Helper at Tamarack Materials plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of building materials to job sites. This position involves loading materials, navigating to job sites, and maintaining the delivery truck and equipment. The role emphasizes compliance with safety regulations and the importance of teamwork and communication in a supportive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Load materials onto the delivery truck and prepare for the next day.
- Locate job sites and navigate routes to ensure timely deliveries.
- Safely unload products and deliver them to the assigned area as directed by the customer.
- Perform pre-trip inspections of equipment and loaded products to ensure order accuracy.
- Secure materials such as mud, equipment, metal, and pallets on the truck.
- Comply with company, state, and federal guidelines, particularly OSHA and DOT regulations.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and communicate information accurately.
- Stamina to lift at least 75 lbs. to carry materials such as drywall and joint compound.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in delivery or warehouse positions.
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to delivery and transportation.
