About the position

The Delivery Specialist is responsible for operating store vehicles to deliver parts and products to professional customers safely and efficiently. This role includes collecting payments on C.O.D. deliveries, picking up customer returns, and ensuring the maintenance and cleanliness of delivery vehicles. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, highlighting the importance of communication skills in this position.

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers in a safe and efficient manner.
• Use delivery fleet management hand-held devices to process deliveries, capture customer signatures, and complete daily vehicle inspections.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of delivery vehicles, including completing daily inspections before operation.
• Secure delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand-held devices, and collected monies at all times.
• Pick up customer returns and fill out driver return slips.
• Communicate any customer problems or special needs to store management.
• Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damage to the store manager immediately.
• Ensure fuel tank is filled and lock the vehicle at the end of the business day.
• Clock in/out according to company policy.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including customer service, stocking, merchandising, and running errands.

Requirements

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing delivery situations.
• Valid state driver's license meeting company driving eligibility requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with automotive parts.
• Ability to operate other light store equipment.
• Fluency in multiple languages, particularly Spanish.
