About the position

The Delivery Specialist is responsible for maintaining and operating store vehicles to deliver parts and products to professional customers safely and efficiently. This role includes collecting payments on C.O.D. deliveries, picking up customer returns, and ensuring the security of delivery vehicles and collected funds. The position also involves various customer service tasks and general store duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers safely and efficiently.
  • Use delivery fleet management hand-held devices to process deliveries and capture customer signatures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and perform daily inspections of delivery vehicles.
  • Secure delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand-held devices, and collected money at all times.
  • Pick up customer returns and fill out driver return slips.
  • Communicate customer needs and issues to store management.
  • Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damage to the store manager immediately.
  • Ensure fuel tanks are filled and vehicles are locked and secured at the end of the day.
  • Clock in/out according to company policy.
  • Perform additional duties such as customer service, stocking, merchandising, and running errands as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing delivery situations.
  • Driving record must meet the company's 14/18-point record system standards.
  • Must possess a legally required state driver's license and meet company driving eligibility requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with automotive parts.
  • Ability to operate other light store equipment.
  • Fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish.
