About the position
The Delivery Specialist is responsible for operating store vehicles to deliver parts and products to professional customers safely and efficiently. This role includes collecting payments on C.O.D. deliveries, picking up customer returns, and ensuring the maintenance and cleanliness of delivery vehicles. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, and the position may involve additional customer service and merchandising tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers in a safe and efficient manner.
- Use delivery fleet management hand-held devices to process deliveries and capture customer signatures.
- Maintain cleanliness and perform daily inspections of delivery vehicles.
- Secure delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, and collected monies at all times.
- Pick up customer returns and fill out driver return slips.
- Communicate customer needs and issues to store management.
- Report vehicle maintenance needs or accidents to the store manager immediately.
- Ensure fuel tank is filled and vehicle is secured at the end of the day.
- Clock in/out according to company policy.
- Assist with customer service, stocking, merchandising, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid state driver's license and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
- Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing delivery situations.
- Driving record must meet the company's 14/18-point record system.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with automotive parts.
- Ability to operate other light store equipment.
- Fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish.
