About The Position
The Delivery Specialist at O'Reilly Auto Parts is responsible for maintaining and operating store vehicles to deliver parts and products to professional customers in a safe and efficient manner. This role involves collecting money on C.O.D. deliveries and picking up customer returns. The Delivery Specialist will operate company vehicles, ensuring that deliveries are made safely and efficiently while adhering to company policies and procedures. The position requires the use of delivery fleet management hand-held devices to process deliveries, capture customer signatures, update vehicle mileage, and complete daily vehicle inspections. In addition to delivery responsibilities, the Delivery Specialist is tasked with keeping vehicles clean and maintained, completing daily vehicle inspections prior to operation, and ensuring the security of delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand-held devices, and collected monies. The role also includes picking up customer returns, communicating any problems or special needs from customers to store management, and reporting vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damage to the store manager immediately. At the end of the day, the Delivery Specialist must ensure that the fuel tank is filled and the vehicle is locked and secured. Additional duties may include customer service tasks, such as assisting customers, serving as a cashier, and helping with merchandising tasks when business demands it. The Delivery Specialist is expected to clock in and out according to company policy and perform other duties as assigned, including general stocking, sweeping, and handling core returns.
