At AdaptHealth, we are dedicated to providing full-service home medical equipment products and services that empower patients to live their best lives outside of the hospital and in the comfort of their homes. We are currently seeking passionate individuals to join our team as Medical Equipment Technicians. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe delivery, setup, and education of home medical equipment for our customers, which may include patients' homes, long-term care settings, clinics, or any other necessary locations. As a Medical Equipment Technician, you will develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the current home medical equipment (HME) products and services offered by AdaptHealth, as well as all applicable governmental regulations. You will be responsible for educating customers on the proper use and care of respiratory and HME equipment, ensuring they feel confident and informed about their equipment. Your role will also involve completing required documentation following equipment setup, delivery, or pickups, and assisting customers with equipment problems, especially under emergency conditions. In addition to these responsibilities, you will promote our services and products to referral sources in the community, develop basic reimbursement knowledge, and document all necessary information to ensure reimbursement for appropriate equipment and services. You will also assist in implementing quality improvement programs to meet company policies, maintain home oxygen systems through regular visits, and safely drive and maintain the company vehicle. Your duties will include performing patient assessments, routine preventative maintenance, and simple repairs on equipment, as well as reporting any equipment hazards or product incidents as required. You will be expected to adhere to procedures for the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), infection control, and hazardous materials handling, while maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. This position may require on-call responsibilities during non-business hours, and you will be responsible for cleaning equipment as assigned. Overall, this role is vital in ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of care and support in their home environments.
