About the position

The Delivery Technician at Owens & Minor is responsible for delivering durable medical equipment to patients in their homes. This role is crucial in ensuring that patients receive the necessary medical supplies and equipment, while also providing basic instructions on their use. The position requires effective communication, attention to detail, and the ability to respond to emergency delivery calls as needed.

Responsibilities

• Pulls, packs, delivers and picks up medications, supplies and basic equipment.
• Instructs patients on basic use of respiratory therapy equipment and durable medical equipment.
• Loads and unloads durable medical and infusion equipment onto delivery vehicle.
• Responds to emergency delivery calls during regular business hours and on an on-call basis.
• Completes necessary paperwork including daily delivery logs and vehicle maintenance logs.
• Maintains supply component of patient profiles.
• Notifies supervisor of any unsafe conditions or abuse observed in the patient's home.
• Cleans and assists with the repair of equipment as needed.
• Performs routine vehicle maintenance and reports malfunctions.

Requirements

• Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma is required.
• At least one year of related experience is required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.
• Minimum of three years driving history required.
• Successful completion of Apria Healthcare's Driver Training Program is required.
• Must meet job-related requirements to comply with D.O.T., F.D.A. and standards of accrediting body.
• Proficient in English (reading, writing, verbal).
