About the position
The Pool Maintenance Technician at Vesta Property Services is responsible for maintaining and repairing pools and associated facilities. This role involves ensuring the cleanliness and safety of pool environments, performing chemical treatments, and troubleshooting equipment issues. The technician will work outdoors and must be knowledgeable about pool maintenance practices and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Cleans and maintains filled pools and facilities by skimming, vacuuming, and performing chemical treatments.
- Periodically empties pools to perform deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces.
- Regularly tests pool water for pH, chlorine, presence of bacteria, algae, or contaminants, and other data.
- Ensures correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water.
- Calculates and adds chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants, or correct other problems.
- Inspects pool and equipment; troubleshoots and repairs identified issues.
- Completes and maintains daily logs outlining chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs automated control systems, intake and drain valves, pumps, motors, and chemical and leak detection systems.
- Resolves client or customer problems.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Certified Pool Operator Certificate.
- Experience in pool maintenance.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their interaction.
- Knowledge of safe work principles and practices.
