About the position

Orbital Engineering is seeking a skilled and proactive Deltek Vantagepoint Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The Deltek System Administrator will be responsible for maintaining the effective use of our cloud-based Deltek Vantagepoint ERP system, which includes the Vantagepoint Intelligence module operating with Tableau and the Unionpoint package operating with Workato. This role is crucial for ensuring that the system operates smoothly and meets the performance expectations of the organization. The successful candidate will engage in system maintenance tasks, which include troubleshooting issues, applying fixes, upgrading versions, managing integrations, and ensuring that system performance is consistently monitored and optimized. In this position, the Deltek System Administrator will work closely with all departments, providing essential support to staff at all user levels. The role requires a commitment to cross-training and sharing knowledge to enhance the overall quality of services delivered. The administrator will lead the administration, maintenance, and optimization of Deltek Vantagepoint, which encompasses user management, security configuration, system updates, and data integrity oversight. Continuous monitoring of system performance and the development and maintenance of internal processes and workflows will be key responsibilities. Additionally, the administrator will perform system process testing and quality assurance duties for implementations and enhancements. They will support additional application implementations, key processes, integrations, and change management initiatives. Regular collaboration with multiple business units will be necessary to understand their ERP requirements and objectives. The administrator will also lead end-user training through various resources, including Deltek University, consultant webinars, and the development of internal training materials. They will work closely with leadership to explore how to best leverage the system, provide recommendations for improvements, and support end-users in resolving day-to-day application issues. The role may also involve creating stored procedures, workflows, and Workato recipes to facilitate required functionality in the system, as well as developing charts and dashboards for KPI monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Lead administration, maintenance, and optimization of Deltek Vantagepoint including user management and security configuration.
  • Continuously monitor system performance and develop/maintain internal processes and workflows.
  • Perform system process testing and QA duties for implementation and enhancements.
  • Support additional application implementations, key processes, integrations, and change management initiatives.
  • Collaborate regularly with multiple business units to understand their ERP requirements and objectives.
  • Lead end user training through external resources and the development of internal training materials.
  • Collaborate with leadership to explore system improvements and user-defined enhancements.
  • Support end-users in troubleshooting and resolving problems in a timely manner.
  • Provision user accounts and adjust application access for existing users based on requests.
  • Serve as the company's liaison with Deltek and related consultants.
  • Develop charts and dashboards for KPI monitoring and tracking.
  • Create stored procedures, workflows, and Workato recipes to facilitate required functionality in the system.
  • Assume special projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related/applicable major.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working with Deltek Vantagepoint.
  • Experience integrating data with a relational database.
  • Experience with SQL Stored Procedures, Views, Indexes, and Constraints.
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Experience manipulating data for import and report building.

Nice-to-haves

  • Microsoft Office 365: Excel (including pivot tables, formulas, VBA, and macros), SharePoint, Visio, PowerPoint.
  • Power BI or Tableau experience.
  • Experience working within an architecture, engineering, or construction setting.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
