About the position

As a Demand & Shipment Planner at Hallmark Marketing Company, you will play a crucial role in enhancing forecast accuracy while minimizing inventory levels and waste. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with the Supply Chain organization to ensure flawless execution of programs. You will monitor retail sales against forecasts and make necessary adjustments to improve accuracy and reduce excess inventory. Utilizing advanced planning tools, you will generate forecasts for future shipments to support production planning and create recommended orders from distribution centers to stores. In the demand planning aspect of your role, you will prepare and manage data that drives effective demand planning activities, ensuring data quality and addressing any exceptions. You will maintain forecast profiles and parameters, enrich forecasts with internal and external inputs, and manage the forecast exceptions report. Your responsibilities will also include monitoring ongoing forecasts, generating accuracy reports, analyzing performance metrics, and collaborating with integrated planning partners to align forecasts with planning targets. Additionally, you will ensure that production and procurement decisions align with established inventory policies. In terms of retail ordering and replenishment, you will prepare data to define master data for the replenishment process, manage calendars and schedules, and consult with internal partners on replenishment rules. You will monitor replenishment plans, manage key reports and dashboards, and resolve issues related to retail inventory positions. Your role will also involve coordinating with partners on SKU replacement strategies and managing incoming communications for account-level inquiries. Lifecycle management will require you to implement sell-down strategies based on retail activity and authorize inventory disposition at the SKU level. You will provide research and analytical support, troubleshoot issues, and communicate with key partners in Supply Chain, Merchandising, and Customer teams to manage priorities effectively. This position also involves mid-term forecasting and planning, where you will consolidate and provide monthly forecasts to the rough-cut capacity planning process.

Responsibilities

  • Increase forecast accuracy while decreasing inventory and discards.
  • Monitor retail sales against forecast and make adjustments as needed.
  • Utilize planning tools to generate forecasts for future shipments.

  • Maintain forecast profiles and parameters in the planning tool.
  • Enrich forecasts based on internal and external inputs.
  • Reconcile and manage the forecast exceptions report.
  • Monitor ongoing forecasts and generate forecast accuracy reports.
  • Partner with Supply Chain contacts to ensure inventory availability.
  • Resolve issues related to inventory position and communicate with partners.
  • Manage forecast to deliver on wholesale serviceability targets.
  • Prepare data to define master data for replenishment processes.
  • Monitor and manage replenishment plans and key reports.
  • Coordinate execution of SKU replacement strategies with partners.
  • Manage incoming communication for account level inquiries and troubleshooting.
  • Implement sell down strategies for wholesale and retail based on activity timing.
  • Authorize inventory disposition at SKU level for execution at the DC.
  • Provide research and analytic support to answer questions and frame decisions.
  • Communicate and collaborate with key partners to manage priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of professional work experience.
  • Experience with product merchandising, demand, inventory, replenishment, or assortment planning.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated functional expertise in Blue Yonder Supply Chain Planning & Optimization (SCPO).
  • Prior Demand and/or Inventory Planning experience in an SAP-enabled environment.
  • Working knowledge of MicroStrategy, PowerBI, and/or Tableau.
  • APICS or other relevant certification.
  • Strong analytical aptitude with proven ability to analyze and summarize data.
  • Strong command and influencing skills with personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
