About the position

This position is responsible for monitoring inventory positions to maximize customer service and optimize inventory for assigned commodities. The role involves analyzing inventory levels, production forecasts, and managing master data, while also participating in forecasting, demand planning, and SKU rationalization processes. The analyst will engage in daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to ensure effective inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews inventory levels compared to demand.
  • Works with other MRP Controllers and plant schedulers to optimize production.
  • Creates new codes when requested and monitors the process through the division until ready for sale.
  • Provides input for inventory strategies for new products.
  • Performs daily exception monitoring tasks in ERP system.
  • Monitors or performs transferring of products between facilities to maximize flow of inventory.
  • Partakes in forecasting processes to continuously improve, involving data analysis and interaction with sales to understand customer needs.
  • Leads root cause analysis initiatives and formulates action plans to remedy issues.
  • Assists other MRP Controllers and provides backup as needed.
  • Performs master data reviews with and without other MRP Controllers.
  • Reviews Inventory Turns and analyzes where improvements could be made.
  • Completes the Demand Segmentation process twice per year.
  • Conducts product rationalization to determine if products should be stocked or made to order.
  • Updates measurable performance metrics while recommending and implementing changes to improve inventory and production performance.
  • Assists in the monthly SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations, Planning) Process.
  • Monitors and communicates slow moving products to sales and plants.
  • Monitors or reports backorders or lead times.
  • Builds strong internal and external relationships.
  • Participates in physical inventory activities and monitors cycle counting monthly.
  • Handles other projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong data analysis and forecasting skills
  • Knowledge of ERP software, SAP preferred
  • Strong MS Office skills with advanced knowledge in Excel
  • Ability to understand inventory levels for various product lines, identify improvements, and implement changes as needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of operations and/or customer service
  • Ability to effectively manage pressure and stress
  • Ability to analyze and act upon information quickly

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates Degree Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • APICS (CPIM, CIRM, CSCP or CLTD) certification preferred
  • Experience in the supply chain field
  • Experience in operations, logistics, sales, or other operations related to supply chain analytical skills
