About the position

The Demand Planner (Forecast Analyst) plays a crucial role in understanding and forecasting business demand and supply. This position involves performing statistical analysis to identify trends, seasonality, and turning points in demand, while also maintaining effective communication across various functions within the company. The Demand Planner is responsible for preparing forecasts, building consensus among stakeholders, and continuously improving forecasting accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, manage, and maintain forecasting models in SAP.
  • Serve as a functional expert in SAP forecasting/demand planning process.
  • Use pilot opportunities to test conclusions.
  • Gain consensus on resultant forecasts from Sales and Operations to develop a demand plan.
  • Leverage IT for collecting and cleansing data.
  • Provide graphical reporting and performance measurements.
  • Benchmark and work towards improving performance.
  • Develop planning strategies for new and discontinued products.

Requirements

  • A college degree is required, preferably in mathematics, statistics, or business.
  • Business and analytical or statistical work experience is required.
  • Quantitative background is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of associates and customers ranging from entry-level to executive-level positions is required.
  • Demonstrated leadership and the ability to develop positive interdepartmental relationships are important.
  • Proficient in Excel, Forecasting Software, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in SAP or other ERP systems is necessary.
  • Ability to work with multiple departments, including Sales and Marketing, Operations, Finance, and IT is required.
  • Passion for learning with excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills is essential.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and communicate direction internally and externally is necessary.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with statistical analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with demand planning best practices.
