About the position

The Demand Planner-Forecaster at UNFI is responsible for managing customer and internal promotional projections and incremental forecasts for inventory across various regions and procurement categories. This role involves collaboration with multiple departments to ensure accurate demand forecasting, driving fill rates, and minimizing excess inventory related to promotional activities. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders to achieve accurate demand signals.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer and internal promotional projections and incremental forecasts for inventory.
• Drive total demand signal accuracy and customer fill rate while limiting excess product.
• Conduct weekly forecast reviews and engage with key stakeholders for accurate demand forecasting.
• Influence retailers to ensure the most accurate demand signal through data analysis.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with complex customers and suppliers.
• Develop and execute strategies for seasonal volume builds and maintain accountability.
• Utilize Excel and systemic reporting for daily execution and post-action reviews.
• Engage with customers and manufacturers as a subject matter expert on Demand Planning processes.
• Ensure promotional maintenance is completed, including ads, date changes, and quantity adjustments.
• Oversee the creation and management of non-promotional added demand.
• Share opportunities for continuous improvement across the team.
• Educate and train partners on incremental demand accuracy and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 3-4 years of relevant experience in demand planning or forecasting.
• Thorough knowledge of procurement and logistics processes.
• Strong analytical and math skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to identify and understand trends and analyze information.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
