About the position

The Demand Planner III at Trident Seafoods is responsible for driving the demand planning process for assigned strategic business units. This role involves developing and maintaining volume forecasts, analyzing historical sales data, and making informed recommendations to key business stakeholders. The position requires collaboration with various departments to ensure accurate forecasting and financial performance of the business units.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an 18-36 month volume forecast within the current forecasting system by Item, Customer, Branch Plant, and Country.
  • Review historical sales trends, downstream sales, inventory, and other demand drivers to prepare and refine forecasts as part of the monthly S&OP process.
  • Schedule and lead demand collaboration meetings with key stakeholders in Sales and Category/Species Management.
  • Prepare presentations with analysis views at various levels of aggregation using Excel and/or Power BI to facilitate forecast discussions.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend strategies to improve stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration on forecasts.
  • Analyze variances between existing forecasts, financial plans, and actual sales; recommend improvements to facilitate forecast analysis and collaboration.
  • Protect the financial performance of strategic business units by identifying potential supply chain issues.
  • Review external customer forecast data and work with Sales partners to incorporate guidance into forecasts when feasible.
  • Build what-if scenarios and propose business actions to management.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in demand planning, data analytics, or a related field.
  • A bachelor's degree in mathematics, business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel (PivotTables, advanced formulas, formatting).
  • Intermediate proficiency with PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to interpret business logic and develop appropriate data flows and dependencies.
  • Basic working knowledge of statistical forecasting models.
  • Basic knowledge of relational database concepts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of statistical forecasting models.
  • Power Query and PowerPivot experience.
  • Relevant APICS certificate (or similar).
