Siemens, a leader in infrastructure, electrification, and transportation solutions in the United States for over 160 years, is seeking a Demand Planner to join our Customer Service business. This role is crucial in ensuring parts availability for locomotive maintenance activities across various business segments. The ideal candidate will possess experience with the SAP ERP Material Planning Module and have a minimum of 3 years of material planning experience. In this position, you will collaborate with Project Managers, Material Managers, and Engineering teams to identify unreleased, obsolete, or updated parts, evaluate their impact on maintenance schedules, and develop mitigation plans. Your expertise in the ERP MRP system will be essential for entering forecasted demand, managing planning, and overseeing the entire process. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include developing a streamlined, low-risk materials planning strategy for assigned business segments, monitoring end-to-end processes to ensure plan execution, and securing material availability while improving inventory turnover. You will work closely with engineering, MRP controllers, order management, material managers, and strategic procurement to address gaps and material shortages. Additionally, you will track relevant metrics and generate reports, charts, and presentations to monitor performance and promote transparency. Driving process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and achieve continuous improvement will also be a key part of your role. To thrive in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Commercial, Manufacturing, or Engineering, or a combination of education and relevant experience. You must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Supply Chain Management or Materials Planning, be proficient in the SAP ERP Material Planning Module, and possess strong data analysis and interpretation skills. Experience in an engineer-to-order manufacturing environment is preferred, along with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is a results-oriented mindset with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
