About the position

Ultimate Staffing is seeking a Demand Planner for our client in Fremont, CA. This is a 100% onsite, Direct Hire role, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm position with a starting salary of $75K to $90K based on experience. The Demand Planner will play a crucial role in ensuring that inventory is stocked with the latest and greatest products. This position requires a solid understanding of demand planning and inventory management, as well as the ability to analyze customer demand and vendor performance to provide critical insights that optimize inventory, reduce waste, and increase sales. As a Demand Planner II supporting the Chicago team, you will work closely with various teams to forecast future demand for core items, promotions, seasonal products, and new arrivals. You will be responsible for identifying and analyzing demand forecast risks, developing effective mitigation plans, and maintaining optimal inventory levels to ensure customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will assist in developing annual budgets and cost-effectiveness initiatives, providing routine and ad-hoc demand-related reports to management. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a high proficiency in SQL and Advanced Excel. You will also be expected to build constructive relationships with cross-functional teams and influence others by presenting ideas that lead to action.

Responsibilities

  • Forecast future demand for core items, promotions, seasonal products, and new arrivals.
  • Analyze customer demand and vendor performance to provide insights for inventory optimization.
  • Provide daily guidance and oversight to the category while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Identify and analyze demand forecast risks and develop effective mitigation plans.
  • Regularly plan and update forecasts for new products, seasonal items, discounts, promotions, and new regions.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot demand-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain demand planning processes to continuously improve forecast accuracy.
  • Assist in developing annual budgets and cost-effectiveness initiatives.
  • Provide routine and ad-hoc demand-related reports to management.
  • Oversee and maintain optimal inventory levels in the warehouse through effective inventory planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or other relevant fields.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a demand planning/forecasting role.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.
  • High proficiency with SQL and Advanced Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
